JUNIORS

The Junior Year for our students prioritizes portfolio building and sharpening their Adobe and Creative Cloud skills, along with encouraging them to take on live jobs both within and outside the school. This allows them to apply real-life skills to real-life situations, like the Metrowest Film Festival or SkillsUSA competitions.

MSBA CONTEST WINNING LOGO

Students designed a logo for the Massachusetts School Building Authority's contest. They received 157 submissions from 10th, 11th and 12th grade students representing 56 Massachusetts cities and towns across the Commonwealth. The contest was geared towards connecting students with the work accomplished by the MSBA and to reimagine a new authority logo. Keefe Tech won the contest.

PROM POSTERS AND INVITE

Students design a Keefe Tech prom poster and invite based on the theme chosen by the Student Counsel.

BIOPIC

A DVC Juniors project where they complete a biopic of something or someone dramatizing their life.

STILL LIFE PROJECT

The DVC Juniors were assigned a project where they would complete a still life that reflected who they were

and what was important to them. Here are some of the stunning results!

BRANDING JOBS

In order to learn more about real-life jobs in art, different activities around the shop were given to groups of students- creating a new logo for a mental health awareness group allied with the school and producing a short movie, a blog, and a new banner for Design and Visual. The purpose was to familiarize the students with live jobs and working with clients, which will be important for the students that intend to continue their artistic careers. Considering a message and audience is relevant to their futures as artists.

PROVINCETOWN PRINTMAKING

The students were assigned a project where they made a print of a subject that interested them, reminiscent of Provincetown’s traditional printmakers, like Blanche Lazzell, Mabel Hewit, and Mary Mullineaux. These women were inspired by Japanese wood prints and found a way to make them multicolored. The project was a great way to explore negative space! The final result was a linoleum block carved out to create the image, which is then printed.
