SENIORS
In their final year at Keefe Tech seniors are really pushed to apply the skills that they have learned to real life situations, finish developing their portfolio and learn the skills they will need to be successful after graduation.
DECK OF CARDS
Students were tasked with designing a cohesive deck of playing cards or a tarot deck by creating a unified set of illustrations. As a class, we discussed the key elements that make a card deck feel cohesive—such as theme, symbolism, color, and style—in order to develop a strategy for creating their own decks.

PRINT RESUMES
Resumes are something everyone needs for applying to jobs. Senior year we work hard to take the typography skills we have learned and use them to create a professional but unique resume that shows off the student's abilities.

PATTERNS AND SPACE
This is the final portfolio piece we make as a class before college applications. A lot of (but not all) of our students pursue higher education. In this project we look at the history of pattern making from designers such as William Morris and contemporary artists like Kehinde Wiley. Students then develop a piece where they create a pattern, illustrate an object or figure and play with our understanding of space as they float that object/figure within the imagined space of the pattern.

LANDSCAPE PROJECT
Students created a landscape artwork through painting, illustration, a series of photographs or a video. Through analyzing the piece, they were able to tell a story, create a mood, message, and theme without text or figures.
TYPE POSTERS
Typography is the art of designing and modifying type, and creating a typography poster is no easy task. It requires time, patience, and a strong understanding of the principles of art. When a poster focuses on a single font, the designer must carefully craft the composition to ensure the type is legible, purposeful, and visually engaging.

TRADITIONAL SELF PORTRAIT PAINTING
Students were tasked with creating a self portrait that represented their personality, hobbies, or interests. Students were encouraged to use a variety of mediums that demonstrated their technical and creative skills.

CLIENT JOBS
To learn more about real-life jobs in art. The purpose is to familiarize the students with live employment and working with clients, which will be important for the students who intend to continue their artistic careers. Considering the message and audience are relevant to their futures as artists.

GAME DESIGN
Seniors split into groups and applied the design thinking process to develop a game prototype. Through research, ideation, and iteration, each group created and presented their final prototype to the class.

PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS
Students completed a professional headshot project designed to prepare them for the workforce. The project focused on planning, lighting, composition, and presentation of professional images suitable for job applications and future opportunities.

DIGITAL AVATAR
We are often asked to present ourselves online. In order to prep students for this they were asked to create a digital avatar in their own style to present who they are.

PORTRAIT OF A PARTNER
In order for students to demonstrate their technical ability they were tasked with realistically drawing a partner of their choice. Their creations were to represent not just the physical appearance but personality of their partner
